While my friend Giulia came to visit NYC from the UK, I think it's the most creative I've been in a long time. Really encouraging me to go out and shoot and just explore the city while showing her around, activities that become very rare during the school year. I'll be posting some photos I shot of her soon, in the meantime here are some photos she took of me!

I've been back in New York for about 2 months now, school has started and I am back in the swing of things. If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I was studying and working in London this summer! and traveling Europe a bit. My plan had been to blog about my journey each week but work caught up with me as well as enjoying the new city a little too much and I accidentally went MIA from That Denim Purse.
My time in London was amazing but I was also a bit relieved to be back in New York. I'm ready to keep taking on this city but I will always have London in the back of my mind. I hope to return there as soon as I can.
I have some new posts lined up for the blog and I am super excited about it! This summer has definitely been eye opening and I want to start incorporating more of my interests and what I do into this blog rather than simple personal style posts. So stay tuneddd. ..

I think everyone who reads this blog by now knows that denim is always my favorite trend whether it be jackets, pants, or overalls, etc. Cropped denim has definitely been taking over the world of street style and I love every minute of it. With the raw frayed bottoms they just look so relaxed and casual. I'm loving this pair I got on ASOS with the wide leg, culotte like silhouette and frayed bottom they are likely my favorite thing in my wardrobe at the moment.

With this new spring weather comes warm days and chilly nights. The key to pulling most outfits together I'd say is to have the perfect jacket. Light jackets like long blazers, dusters, and trenches are some of my favorite pieces and always key to finishing a look.
This Bellfield Opulus blazer has been perfect for this weather and so versatile for any look, school, a day off, or even work. Bellfield is a great womens and menswear brand that is really light and minimal, they have so many great pieces I can't wait to get my hands on. You can check out their womenswear here, and find the Opulus Blazer on this page here. You can use this code BLOG20 for 20% off full priced products!
Took these photos the other day walking through Nolita with my best friend Jordyn Ferriss, She's truly a great photographer. I'm so excited that she will be coming to visit me in London this summer :)

"Did you have to bleach it??" "How long did it take?" "How does your hair look so healthy??"
Although I get my hair done at a salon, I still had to bleach my hair an extreme length to get the color I have currently. People are always so shocked at how healthy my hair still looks.
If you plan to do something like this at home (I am not an expert) but don't use more than a 30 developer or you will really damage your hair (I've done it).
Here are some maintenance tips and products for you that I use myself...
First off I get my roots done ever 4-7 weeks to avoid getting a band. If you let your roots grow out too far you will have to get 2 double processes to avoid the yellow band that will happen between your roots and your already bleached hair. I wash my hair every 2-3 days if I can go longer, great. Dry shampoo is your best friend. When shampooing use a color care/ color safe shampoo and conditioner and avoid shampooing the ends of your hair to help maintain the color. Brands I like are Arrojo, KeratinComplex, and MoroccanOil
My first product from my holy grail of hair care is the Arrojo Shine Luxe Oil (Which you can find by clicking the link). I use about 3 pumps and run it through my just out of the shower towel dried hair.
Next, if my hair has been extra dry lately I use "Fudge Urban Miracle Ends" or "Fudge Urban 3 in 1 Miracle Moisture Stuff" this is a brand from the UK so it can be hard to find. You can try Target, Rickys NYC or sometimes get lucky on Amazon. This product it my favorite I use when my hairs wet or if I dont need it then and my hair dries a little frizzy a little dot on dry hair does miracles.
Another leave in coniditioner I just like to keep around but don't always use is MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream
If I am going to touch any heat to my hair I am sure to use a protective spray first my favorite is Arrojo Protective Thickening Lotion. You can also use this as a scrunching kind of sea salt spray for styling.
And last but not least when my color is starting to fade but I'm not ready to go back to the salon I use ManicPanic Creamtone in Fluers Du Mal mixed about 3/4 with 1/4 Pantene conditioner and leave it in my hair for about an hour to freshen up my color. It took me a while to find the right color to use when touching up my hair myself. I like ManicPanic colors mixed with conditioner because the color doesn't seam to stain as harsh as brands like Pravana.
